This project renders the stirring quote of Ghassan Kanafani: “Don’t die before becoming a worthy opponent (لا تمت قبل أن تكون نداً)”. Designed in the Diwani Jali script, the text follows an arched, ascending path, visually mirroring the progression and upward climb inherent in the struggle to achieve one’s potential.
The concept is Ascent. By arranging the words on a single line that arches upward, we create a visual narrative of overcoming. The Diwani Jali’s fluid connections represent the continuity of effort, while the arch reflects the dignity and resolve found in Kanafani’s words.
We chose Diwani Jali for its expressive, dramatic potential. The script’s ability to tilt and arch allows the text to follow the “climb” of the composition while maintaining a bold, majestic presence.
We mapped the arch to ensure the words felt supported by the curve. We manually adjusted the ligatures to ensure the “ascent” felt seamless. The piece was vectorized, with careful attention to the stroke weights, ensuring the final work is sharp, professional, and visually compelling.
This vector file is perfect for literary-themed wall art, meaningful office decor, or high-end prints that inspire resolve and perseverance.
