This project presents the word “Falastin – فلسطين” (Palestine) in the elegant Decorative Diwani script. The design features a unique artistic bridge between the central letters and a sweeping, arched extension of the final letter Nūn that frames the entire composition.
The concept is The Protective Arch. The dramatic extension of the Nun serves as a canopy, symbolizing the protection and enduring spirit of the land. The intricate connection between the Sin and Ṭa’ in the center creates a visual “heart” for the word, representing unity and resilience.
Diwani was chosen for its rhythmic, dancing quality. The script’s ability to “reach back” and surround itself allows for a self-contained composition that feels like a completed thought, a unified and beautiful piece of national art.
We focused on the mathematical curve of the arched Nūn to ensure it maintained a consistent optical weight as it surrounded the text. The final piece was vectorized, ensuring the “bridge” in the center and the graceful outer flourish are razor-sharp for professional applications.
