The Angels Called Him While He Was Standing In Prayer In The Chamber In Thuluth Arabic Calligraphy

This project captures the spiritual atmosphere of Verse 39 from Surah Ali ‘Imran: “While he was standing in prayer in the chamber, the angels called unto him – فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌۭ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ”. Rendered in Thuluth Jali, the words are creatively stacked and connected, flanked by rich arabesque ornamentation.

The concept is Divine Interruption. The “stacking” of the words, placing letters on top of and next to each other, reflects the layered, mystical experience of the “Mihrab” (prayer chamber). The horizontal flow represents the physical world, while the vertical stacking symbolizes the spiritual communication between the angels and the believer.

Thuluth Jali allows for this high-density interlocking, where letters from different words touch and lean on one another. This creates a visually complex, tapestry-like effect that demands the viewer linger on the text, much like one lingers in prayer.

We balanced the words together. The arabesque designs on the left and right were meticulously synchronized to provide a balanced “gate” for the verse. The final design was vectorized for high-resolution use in architectural or digital art.

Delivered as a professional vector file, this masterpiece is ideal for prayer rooms, masjid interiors, or as a sophisticated art piece for a home that values deep Quranic reflection.
