Listed in Featured Work / Thuluth Script Arabic Calligraphy, Tagged in / / Arabic Calligraphy Galleries

In this stunning and intricate Arabic calligraphy, meticulously crafted in the Thuluth script, the focus is on the majestic verse 255 from Surah Al-Baqarah, known as the Verse of Thrones or Ayatul Kursi. The composition begins with the word “Allah,” meaning “God,” rendered in a large and symmetrical form. The Aleph and the Haa letters are artfully extended and curved, creating a shape reminiscent of a gracefully curved vase, narrow at the top and widening at the bottom. Above the “Allah” word, a special and unique Bismillah is delicately written in the Tughra Ottoman-style script, adding an extra layer of artistic elegance. Surrounding the central “Allah” word is the Verse of Thrones, translated as: “There is no god except He, The Living, The Self-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could possibly intercede with Him without His permission? He knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge except what He wills. His Seat encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is The Most High, The Exalted.”, expressing profound attributes of the Almighty. The classical Thuluth script is employed to depict the verse in a beautiful and majestic manner. The letters are not only elegant but also convey a sense of grandeur, complementing the detailed and large-scale nature of the calligraphy. This masterful work of art captures both the visual beauty of the script and the spiritual depth of the verse, creating a harmonious blend of form and meaning.
