And When I Am Ill It Is He Who Cures Me In Diwani And Thuluth Arabic Calligraphy

This project presents verses 80-82 from Surah Ash-Shuara: “And when I am ill, it is He who cures me (وإذا مرضت فهو يشفين)” and “And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life. And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense (والذي يميتني ثم يحيين والذي أطمع أن يغفر لي خطيئتي يوم الدين)”. This composition harmonizes the ornate Diwani script with the classical majesty of Thuluth.

The design creates a layered sanctuary. The core verse (the prayer for healing) is crafted in a waterdrop silhouette using Diwani script to represent softness and vulnerability. Enveloping this, the subsequent verses are arranged in a supportive, arched Thuluth frame, creating a visual metaphor for divine protection and the continuity of life and faith.

We utilize Diwani for the inner core to highlight the emotional nuance of the prayer, while Classical Thuluth forms the outer arch. This script hierarchy balances the cursive, intimate nature of the petition with the firm, authoritative promise of God’s mercy.

We mapped the waterdrop core to be the central focal point, then built the Thuluth arch around it to ensure the visual weight was evenly distributed. The letters were manually drafted to ensure the “flipped” and arched orientation remained perfectly legible. Post-drafting, the design was vectorized, ensuring the contrast between the Diwani curves and the Thuluth terminals is sharp and professional.

Delivered as a professional vector file, this composition is optimized for high-end digital or print displays, ensuring the dual-script beauty remains crisp and readable at any scale.
