This Arabic calligraphy artwork is a unique and special piece featuring the title “Lotus Flower – زهرة اللوتس”, beautifully rendered in decorative Diwani script. The design is highly intricate, as Diwani script is complex to shape, yet here it has been carefully crafted so that the letters themselves form the shape and appearance of a lotus or lily flower.
The letters are gracefully curved and extended, intertwining to create the petals of the lotus, with a small stem and leaves at the bottom supporting the floral structure. This creates a harmonious visual where the form of the flower and the flow of the letters are fully integrated, making the calligraphy both artistic and meaningful.
Beneath the lotus, there is a half-circular, half-arch section written in classical Thuluth script, containing a short poem: “بتلات نقيات خُمنَت ولم تُشاهَد” (“Pure petals guessed at and never seen”). The Thuluth calligraphy is elegant and readable, complementing the Diwani floral design above. This piece is remarkable for its combination of visual beauty, readability, and symbolic meaning, where the form of the letters reflects the essence of the words, creating a sophisticated and poetic calligraphic artwork.
