This artistic project captures the romantic wisdom of the Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani: “Silence in the Presence of Beauty is Beauty – الصمت في حرم الجمال جمال”. Executed in Thuluth Jali, the calligraphy turns poetic words into a visual sanctuary.
The concept is Visual Silence. The Thuluth Jali script is used here to create a “shrine” (Haram) of letters. The dense, interlocking structure of the words mimics the breathless feeling of encountering true beauty, where words fail and only the visual harmony of the art remains.
Thuluth Jali was chosen to give the poem an “architectural” weight. The script’s complexity mirrors the depth of Qabbani’s words, turning a short sentence into a rich, decorative landscape that invites the viewer to linger in quiet contemplation.
We engineered the ligatures to create a balanced, self-contained block of text. The final composition was vectorized, ensuring that the elegant flourishes and the weight of the “Jamal” (Beauty) terminals are flawlessly rendered for luxury art prints.
