This project renders the intimate invocation “Ya Habibi Ya Rasool Allah – يا حبيبي يا رسول الله” (My Beloved, O Messenger of Allah). Using the Thuluth Jali script, the words are crafted in a unique “bottom-to-top” vertical progression.
The concept is The Spiritual Ascent. By arranging the words to grow upwards, the calligraphy mimics the rising of a prayer or the elevation of the soul through love. It breaks the traditional horizontal plane to create a “ladder of light,” where each word builds upon the previous one toward the name of Allah at the apex.
Thuluth Jali was utilized for its unrivaled ability to stack and interlock. The vertical weight of the script allows for a dense, powerful column of text that remains legible despite its complex, upward-reaching formation.
