This project features a captivating collection of family names: “Tariq, Aisha, Yusra, Aleena, Aidan, and Raees – طارق, عائشة, يسرى, ألينا, ايدان, رئيس.” Rendered in the majestic Thuluth Jali script, this artwork brings together multiple identities into one unified, harmonious composition.
The collection is presented in an artistic half-oval shape, symbolizing the wholeness and connection of the family unit. A defining creative touch in this design is the extension of two Aleph letters, which gracefully rise above the oval frame. This deliberate choice breaks the boundary of the composition, adding a sense of height and sophistication to the overall silhouette.
We utilized the Thuluth Jali script, known for its grandeur and intricate balance. Thuluth Jali is the perfect medium for grouping names, as its ability to interlock and scale allows for complex compositions that remain clear, majestic, and visually rhythmic.
Our calligraphy is always created from scratch by hand. Managing the spacing for six distinct names within a half-oval boundary is a delicate process of calligraphic engineering. We carefully balanced the size of each name while ensuring the connective flow (the siyah) between them remained elegant. The extension of the Aleph letters was hand-refined to ensure they provide a graceful, non-distracting accent to the primary shape.
