The concept is The Upward Struggle. The arched formation, beginning from the bottom and sweeping upward, visually represents growth, resistance, and the journey toward becoming a “rival” or “worthy opponent.” The dense, decorative nature of Diwani Jali adds a layer of complexity that mirrors the depth of Kanafani’s political and literary legacy.
Diwani Jali is used here to create a “wall” of text. The script’s use of internal decorative dots and connected ligatures creates a solid, unbreakable visual block, reinforcing the message of strength and resilience.
