This project presents a stunning collective representation for the Istanbuli (استنبولي) family, featuring the names “Fayez, Kinda, Farah, Laila – فايز, كندة, فرح, ليلى”. The design is masterfully woven into a Circular Thuluth composition.
The concept is The Circle of Kinship. By interlocking the individual names into a single circular piece, the design symbolizes unity and the unbreakable bond of family. The surname “Istanbuli” is placed firmly at the base in Naskh script, acting as the foundation upon which the family is built.
Thuluth Jali is used for the upper circular medallion for its density and prestige, while Naskh provides the grounding clarity for the family name. This bi-scriptual approach creates a beautiful visual hierarchy and a “coin-like” aesthetic.
We engineered the four first names to occupy equal visual weight within the circle. The final vector format is essential for family heirlooms, allowing the complex interweaving of names to remain clear across various materials.
