Jerusalem My City Poem In The Shape Of Dome Of The Rock In Thuluth Arabic Calligraphy

This project celebrates the poetry of Nizar Qabbani on Jerusalem. Meticulously rendered in Thuluth Jali, the lines “Oh Jerusalem, my town, Oh Jerusalem, my love, Tomorrow the lemon trees will blossom, And the olive trees will rejoice, Your eyes will dance – يا قدسُ يا مدينتي, يا قدسُ يا حبيبتي, غداً سيزهر الليمون وتفرحُ السنابلُ الخضراءُ والزيتون وتضحكُ العيون” are woven into the iconic silhouette of the Dome of the Rock.

The concept is Identity and Architecture. By shaping the poetry into the architecture of the holy city, we create a profound visual bond between the words and the landmark. It is a tribute to the endurance of Jerusalem through the lens of poetic beauty.

Thuluth Jali allows us to manipulate the stroke weight to mimic the architectural lines of the Dome. It is the most appropriate script to provide the “dignity” and “historical weight” that this subject requires.

We drafted the verse to align with the facade and the dome structure. We meticulously managed the ligatures so that the text remains readable while clearly defining the building’s silhouette. The design was then vectorized, ensuring the intricate details of the dome and the flowing script are perfectly crisp at any size.

This vector file is perfect for architectural art, historical commemorative pieces, or high-end archival framing. The vector format ensures the silhouette’s architectural detail remains flawless.
